Design and Analysis of Experiments is an introductory textbook that deals with the design and analysis of experiments. It is based on colleg-level courses in design and experiments that Doug Montgomery has taught over 30 years. It also reflects the methods that the writer have found useful in our own professional practice as statistical consultans in many areas of science and engineering. During the last few years, a number of excellent software products to assist experimenters in both the design and analysis phases of this subject have appeared. Minitab is a general-purpose statistical software package that has good data analysis capabilities and handles the analysis of experiments with both fixed and random factors (including the mixed model) quite nicely. In addition, Minitab has many capabilities for construction and evaluation of designs and extensive analysis features. The Minitab Companion provides an introduction to using Minitab for design of Experiments. It shows all of the necessary steps in Minitab to complete the examples in the textbook. In addition, the statistical output for the examples is shown to match the textbook. The purpose of the Minitab Companion is for people to lern tha basics of Minitab in terms of design of experiment. athe user should begine to understand the basic structure for data and to feel comfortable interfacing with the software. This manual is not intended as a substitute for a good training class focused on using Minitab for statistic. However, the Minitab Companion should serve as a nice introduction to using Minitab to design and analyze experiments.//yeni
